South Sudan's Minister of Trade and Industry Kuol Athian Mawein met with Moataz Moustafa Abdel Kader, Egypt's ambassador in Juba, on Friday.
They discussed measures to strengthen commercial and industrial collaboration between their nations, according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
Abdel Kader emphasised the solid bilateral ties between Cairo and Juba as well as the political leadership of Egypt's orders to expand all types of collaboration with South Sudan.
He discussed Egypt's efforts to increase trade with South Sudan, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the trade and industrial sectors last year, the holding of the first "Made in Egypt" exhibition in South Sudan to promote Egyptian goods, and the opening of the National Bank of Egypt (NBEfirst )'s branch in Juba last month.
South Sudan and Egypt have close ties. By giving the government the essentials, Cairo aims to assist the fledgling state.
According to the Ministry's statement, Athian acknowledged his appreciation for Egypt's assistance.
He stated that South Sudan hopes to conclude the talks held between the commerce and industry ministries of the two nations during the Egyptian-South Sudanese Higher Committee meeting last year.
The two parties talked about ways to step up training initiatives, capacity building, and knowledge transfer in the trade and industrial sectors, as well as opportunities to improve the legislative framework governing the ongoing trade and industrial cooperation.
Given the significant investment opportunities, particularly in the areas of livestock, fishery resources, mining, and the pharmaceutical industry, they discussed prospective options for cooperation in the sphere of industrialization in South Sudan.
