Egypt Sees Cold Weather, Rainfall on Friday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that the country will witness the peak of unstable weather on Friday.

Cold weather is predicted to prevail in Cairo, Lower Egypt, the North Coast, and North Upper Egypt, during daylight hours.

Moderately hot weather is also set to prevail in South Sinai and South Upper Egypt.

Furthermore, moderate to heavy rain, sometimes thunderstorms accompanied by hail, will hit intermittently in Marsa Matruh, Alexandria, Damietta, Port Said, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Sharqia, Menoufia, Qalyubia, Cairo, Giza, Ismailia, Suez, Fayoum, Beni Suef, and Minya.

It is also foreseen that heavy rains may bring flooding to Sinai, Gulf of Suez, Zafarana, Ras Ghareb, and Ras Shukair.

Light rain is also predicted to prevail in South Upper Egypt.

Winds will be active in the Northeastern Coast, Sinai, and North Upper Egypt.

Meanwhile, extremely cold weather is foreseen to prevail across the country at nighttime, reaching the point of frost in central Sinai.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 16°C in Cairo, 16°C in Alexandria, 15°C in Marsa Matruh, 19°C in Sohag, 21°C in Qena, and 23°C in Aswan.
