Egypt’s national football team, led by coach Hossam Hassan, secured a vital 1-0 victory over Mauritania in the fourth round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The match, held on Tuesday, saw Ibrahim Adel score the decisive goal, ensuring Egypt’s place in the upcoming tournament.

The game started with both teams pushing for early dominance. Mauritania came close to scoring in the 8th minute, but Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy made a crucial save, injuring himself in the process.
