Egypt Reports 1603 New COVID-19 Cases, 38 Fatalities

On Sunday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1603 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s total up to 410,098.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,368 nationwide after the ministry announced 38 deaths.

About 1209 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 343,971.

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 40.2% of people against the Coronavirus, according to health officials.

The country is also aiming to vaccinate 70% of citizens in the coming period.

Egypt’s vaccination campaign started in January 2021 using various types of imported and locally made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.

About 500,000 citizens received COVID-19 booster shots, especially those with weak immunity.
