Egypt Reports 1232 New COVID-19 Cases, 31 Deaths

On Monday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1232 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 401,308.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,179 nationwide after the ministry announced 31 deaths.

About 1100 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 334,629.

It is worth mentioning that, Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said on Sunday that symptoms of seasonal Flu, and COVID-19 new variant ‘Omicron’ are highly similar.

In a press conference, he added that studies have proven that Coronavirus vaccination reduces the severity of infection.
