Tamim Khalaf, spokesperson for Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that any proposals or initiatives that circumvent Egypt’s and the Arab world’s established stance, centered on Israel’s withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, are unacceptable.
He emphasized that such half-measures only contribute to the continuation of the conflict rather than achieving a final resolution.
His statement came in response to media inquiries regarding discussions on governance in Gaza in the coming phase, including the latest proposal suggesting that Egypt temporarily administer the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, Khalaf stressed the organic link between Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, affirming that these territories constitute the land of the independent Palestinian state and must be under full Palestinian sovereignty and administration.
