Moreover, 1891 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 358,165.

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt’s daily coronavirus report includes infections related to the COVID-19 virus, and its new variants (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Omicron), the ministry spokesman revealed.

Abdel Ghaffar added that Coronavirus and its mutants respond to therapeutic protocols, as well as internationally-approved vaccines around the world.

Earlier, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that about 40.2% of Egyptian citizens received the COVID-19 vaccine.

In press remarks, Abdel Ghaffar added that the state aims to vaccinate 70% of citizens during the coming period, stressing that vaccinating the largest number of citizens will reduce hospital admission, deaths rates, and combat virus mutations.
