On Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 892 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 362,260.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 20,682 nationwide after the ministry announced 39 deaths.

About 1003 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 300,437.

Egypt has vaccinated about 40 million citizens against the deadly virus.

On November 14, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced the start of clinical trials for CoviVacc, the country’s first coronavirus vaccine.

The authority confirmed that the vaccine is a fruitful outcome of cooperation between the National Research Center and Vaccine Valley Company.
