Egypt Registers 2007 New Coronavirus Cases, 26 Deaths

On Friday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 2007 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 419460.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22522 nationwide after the ministry announced 26 deaths.

About 1991 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 353409.

In the same context, Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, the Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs, said that there are close similarities between flu and Coronavirus symptoms such as the loss of taste and smell, however, both should not be treated as the same.

In addition, Tag El-Din advised all people to follow all medical measures to prevent the infection from both viruses.

He added that every case of flu should be treated carefully especially after the rise in infections.

Next, the presidential advisor asserted that people who suffer from dangerous diseases should be vaccinated, highlighting that the symptoms of the current wave of COVID-19 are somehow mild, but, the infections emerged among whole families.
