Egypt Registers 1809 New Coronavirus Cases, 35 Deaths

On Tuesday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1809 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 413,558.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,431 nationwide after the ministry announced 35 deaths.

About 1783 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 347,557.

Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 40.2% of people against the Coronavirus, according to health officials.

The country is also aiming to vaccinate 70% of citizens in the coming period.

Egypt’s vaccination campaign started in January 2021 using various types of imported and locally made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.

About 500,000 citizens received COVID-19 booster shots, especially those with weak immunity.
