Egypt Registers 1569 New Coronavirus Cases, 41 Deaths

On Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1569 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 408,495.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,330 nationwide after the ministry announced 41 deaths.

About 1703 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 342,762.

Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 40.2% of people against the Coronavirus, according to health officials.

The country is also aiming to vaccinate 70% of citizens in the coming period.

Egypt’s vaccination campaign started in January 2021 using various types of imported and locally made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.

About 500,000 citizens received COVID-19 booster shots, especially those with weak immunity.
