On Thursday, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, announced that Egypt had received one million doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine at Cairo International Airport.
The shipment has been sent by Argentina on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Egyptian-Argentinean relations.
Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that the shipment will be subject to analyzes in the laboratories of the Egyptian Drug Authority before distributing it to vaccination centers nationwide.
As a result, Egypt was able to provide all coronavirus vaccines, including Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna in a short time as part of the state’s plan to diversify and expand the provision of coronavirus vaccines.
The Ministry of Health and Population called on citizens to register on the ministry’s website https://egcovac.mohp.gov.eg/#/registration to receive the vaccine, stressing that the state spares no effort in providing vaccines to citizens for free, through permanent cooperation with international organizations and bodies.
