Egypt Reaffirms Support for Lebanon Amid Rising Threats

Dr. Badr Abdelatty, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, had a phone conversation today, Saturday, August 3rd, with the Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration and Director of Public Diplomacy, stated that Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's support and solidarity with Lebanon in facing the surrounding threats. He highlighted Egypt's intensive communications with all concerned and active parties to contain the ongoing escalation and safeguard the interests of the Lebanese people.

The Foreign Minister expressed deep concern over the increasing escalation in the region and its potential impact on Lebanon's security and stability. He emphasized the need for concerted efforts to prevent the situation from deteriorating and escalating into wider confrontations, which could have severe consequences for the security and stability of the region.

The spokesperson added that the Lebanese Foreign Minister appreciated Minister Abdelatty's initiative to reach out and Egypt's commitment to Lebanon's security and stability. He affirmed his continuous coordination with Egypt regarding the extremely delicate circumstances Lebanon is facing, noting the full confidence of all Lebanese parties in Egypt's role and Cairo's strenuous efforts to protect Lebanon.
