Egypt Ranks 56th on Government AI Readiness Index: Planning Min.

Egypt's Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Kamali, took part in the ministerial session of the thirty-first session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) at the headquarters of the League of Arab States.

He presented the Arab Vision 2045, which aims to achieve hope through thought, will, and action. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and Rula Dashti, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), were present at the event.

Kamali participated in the first-panel discussion of the ministerial meeting regarding the Arab Vision 2045. The panel was titled "Starting Points and Pillars of the Arab Vision 2045".

During the panel, Kamali highlighted the efforts made to develop the Arab Vision 2045 and stressed the importance of aligning it with the national development plans and strategies of the Arab countries, including Egypt.

"Egypt has moved up 55 places on the Government Artificial Intelligence (AI) Readiness Index, to occupy the 56th rank out of 162 countries," said the Egyptian official.

He also mentioned the National Strategy for Sustainable Development "Egypt Vision 2030" in its updated version launched in November 2023, emphasizing the significance of the regional vision in it. He further emphasized the importance of consistency with the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
