The Egyptian national football team has officially qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the fourth time in its history after defeating Djibouti 3–0 in the ninth round of the African qualifiers.
The match took place on Wednesday at Al Arabi Al Zouali Stadium in Morocco.
Egypt opened the scoring early, with Ibrahim Adel heading home a precise cross from Ahmed “Zizo” Sayed in the 8th minute.
Mohamed Salah doubled the lead in the 14th minute after receiving a clever through ball from Mahmoud Trezeguet, before sealing the win in the 84th minute with a stunning lob over the advancing goalkeeper following a long pass from Marwan Attia.
With this victory, Egypt top Group A of the African qualifiers with 23 points from nine matches, securing early qualification for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This marks Egypt’s fourth appearance at the World Cup, following previous participations in 1934, 1990, and 2018.
