The media center of the Ministry of Trade and Industry announced that the decision to ban the export of onions will be implemented from next Sunday, October 1, until December 31, 2023, for a period of 3 months, in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet.
The media center stated that the approval of the Cabinet at its meeting last Wednesday to ban the export of onions was not cancelled, but the implementation of the decision was postponed until the beginning of October to complete the delivery of previously agreed-upon deals to exporters.
The price of vegetables rose 24.4% in August, up from 5.5% the previous month.
Meantime, the decision would help regulate skyrocketing prices in local markets.
