Egypt's u-23 football team were pooled in a tough group at the U-23 AFCON, to be held in Egypt from November 8 to November 22.
The Pharaohs are drawn in Group A at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, alongside Mali, Ghana, and Cameroon, while holders Nigeria were pooled in Group B, alongside Ivory Coast, Zambia, and South Africa.
The eight national teams participating in this tournament are set to play all their clashes at Cairo International Stadium and Al Salam Stadium.

The top three positions at the tournament will qualify automatically to represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Egypt and Al Ahly former striker Emad Metab assisted the CAF Director of Competitions, Samson Adamu to organize and conduct the draw.
The draw ceremony, which was held at the Haramlek Palace in Alexandria, was organized in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, Members of the Normalisation Committee of the Egyptian Football Association, CAF Executive Committee member Ahmed Yahya, and representatives of the qualified teams.
The Egyptian national team managed to rank third at the 2011 U-23 AFCON, held in Morocco after delivering an illustrious performance. While the Pharaohs exited the 2015 tournament from the group stage in Senegal.
In June, Egypt astonished the whole world after hosting the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation as 24 teams participated in that tournament for the first time.
