In a bid to promote Egypt's Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion (EGAT), took part in the International Tourism Exhibition ITB China in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The participation aimed to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and China in tourism and attract more Chinese tourists, as the Chinese market is a key target for Egypt.
During the exhibition, the CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion held meetings with Chinese tourism companies and the Chinese media. He also took part in discussion sessions, including a panel on how modern technology is used in tourism promotion to attract young people, and a panel with CEOs of major Chinese tourism companies and tourism bodies to discuss tourism promotion strategies for participating countries.
El-Kady emphasized the Authority’s interest in using modern technology, especially electronic marketing, to promote tourism in Egypt.
"The Authority is working with professional partners, such as tour operators and international and local airlines, to implement joint promotional campaigns and activities and increase the number of direct flights between the two countries," he said.
El-Kady added that they discussed with Chinese tour operators organizing joint marketing campaigns and familiarization visits for Chinese tour operators and influencers to explore Egypt's diverse tourist destinations, products, and tourism offerings.
