Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Expatriates, met on Wednesday with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Foreign Minister (FM) of Pakistan.

This came on the sidelines of the High-Level Segment of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the tangible progress witnessed in bilateral relations and affirmed their keenness to continue strengthening cooperation across various fields, in line with the aspirations of their peoples and the historical bonds and shared interests between the two countries.

They also discussed regional developments and agreed on the need to deepen and intensify coordination and cooperation both bilaterally and at the regional level, in order to confront existing challenges and risks, contain crises, de-escalate tensions, and preserve stability.

The meeting further addressed the latest developments in the Gaza crisis, where Egyptian FM stressed the urgent need to reach an agreement for a ceasefire and to ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

He firmly rejected any attempts at displacing the Palestinian people, reaffirming their right to remain on their land and to establish their independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
