Egypt on Highest Security Alert ahead of World Men's Handball Championship Final

On Saturday, Egypt is taking unprecedented measures to secure the final game of the Men’s Handball Championship 2021 via a comprehensive security plan.

Defending champions Denmark will face Sweden in the final of the International Handball Championship in Egypt on Sunday after the sides won their semi-finals on Friday.

Tens of thousands of policemen were deployed in the vicinity of Cairo International Stadium, which will also host a big number of dignitaries.

The plan also includes high security alert and raising the degree of readiness via deploying security members in the vicinity of the Cairo stadium.

A big number of rapid deployment forces will be also deployed around important to immediately handle all urgent situations to maintain security and order.

Sweden won by six goals against France to reach their first final since 2001 while Denmark edged to victory by two goals in a fiery tie against Spain, with the two all European contests played at the Cairo Stadium Sports Hall.

The first match of the doubleheader pitted Sweden against France in a rematch of the 2001 final, where the French were victorious.

While, Denmark led by two goals at the interval 18-16, with Mikkel Hansen their star man in the first half after scoring six goals to help the defending champions to their two-goal interval lead.

Denmark extended their lead early in the second period but were halted in their tracks by the dismissal of Henrik Mollgaard, which allowed the Spaniards to reduce the deficit.

Two goals from fast breaks with six minutes to go ultimately sealed victory for Denmark who eventually triumphed 35-33.
