Egypt looks forward to increasing cooperation with Greece

Egypt's Minister of Foreign affairs Sameh Shoukry expressed his country's interest in increasing cooperation with Greece in the energy sector.

Shoukry's statement came on Monday during his meeting with Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, where they discussed the regional developments and areas of cooperation in the eastern Mediterranean, according to the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez.

The Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the two top diplomats discussed close bilateral relations, especially cooperation in the sector of energy and the eastern Mediterranean issues.

During the meeting, Shoukry praised the strength of Egyptian-Greek political and economical relations.

In the same context, Shoukry expressed Egypt’s pride in cooperative relations with Greece and positive developments between the two countries over common interest.

It's worth mentioning that the Greek Foreign Minister arrived in Egypt, earlier Monday for talks with Egypt's officials on bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
