Egypt is intensifying its humanitarian efforts at the Rafah border, continuing to receive wounded Palestinians for medical treatment while facilitating the safe return of recovered patients to the Gaza Strip.
According to Extra News correspondent Awad al-Ghannam, reporting from the border, a new group of Palestinians recently departed Egyptian territory to return home. This group included individuals who had undergone comprehensive medical treatment in Egyptian hospitals, as well as several stranded travelers who successfully completed their crossing procedures.
Egyptian authorities have confirmed that emergency medical teams and ambulances remain on high alert at the Rafah crossing, prepared to receive new waves of injured civilians expected to arrive in the coming hours.
Expanding Aid Operations
The Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity recently arrived at El Arish Airport to oversee the distribution of aid. Accompanied by leadership from the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Minister is scheduled to visit the border to monitor the influx of humanitarian supplies.
In a significant move to combat food insecurity in the region, a massive "Humanitarian Kitchen" is being established in the city of Sheikh Zuweid. The facility is designed to produce over 50,000 meals daily to support the people of Gaza. This initiative comes in response to reports regarding a reduction in flour supplies and food aid from international programs.
Coordination between Egyptian authorities and their counterparts on the Gazan side remains constant to ensure the swift and organized movement of people and aid through the crossing, reinforcing Egypt's pivotal role in the ongoing regional humanitarian response.
