Egypt Launches 1st Eco-Friendly Water Bottle 'Good Water' at COP27 Summit

As part of the Egyptian efforts to confront climate change, the first Egyptian environmentally friendly water bottle “Good water” was launched, to get rid of the phenomenon of using plastic bottles.

This came on the sidelines of the Climate Summit (COP27); in line with Egypt’s vision towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future, “Good Water” has attracted great interest from all participating parties, especially the heads of participating countries and institutions interested in protecting the environment.

The “Good Water” eco-friendly water project presents the first Egyptian mineral water bottle made of plant materials that use covers made of a biopolymer derived from sugar cane; this can be replanted as carbon dioxide-absorbing plants.

The eco-friendly water bottle "Good Water" consists mainly of wood and fibers that are extracted from responsibly managed forests and other eco-friendly sources, as well as water cartons, with a much lower environmental impact than that used in plastic or tin containers.

The project also preserves the original water purity (it protects the water from light) and sterilizes it before filling.

The idea of Egyptian-made water complies with internationally approved environmental standards because they don't use any fossil fuels, they can be reused and degraded in nature much faster than the plastic used on a daily basis.

The idea of establishing “Good Water” company in 2022 came to the hands of a group of Egyptian entrepreneurs interested in producing an eco-friendly mineral water drinking experience, to get rid of the culture of using plastic bottles, with the support of a group of national investors for the project; In line with Egypt's vision towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

"Good Water" launched its first phase at the activities of the COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, with its blue bottle with a capacity of 500 ml, and it is scheduled to launch and display "Good Water" for its products in the Egyptian market at an economical price at the beginning of the next year 2023.
