Egypt Joins Celebrations of Choosing Novi Sad As Capital of Culture 2021

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, met with Milos Voshevevic, Mayor of Novi Sad city in Vojvodina province, on Egypt’s selection as the guest of honor of Belgrade International Book Fair.

The ceremony was attended by Amr Gweilly ,Egypt’s Ambassador to Serbia.

Both sides discussed, during their meeting, the ways to enhance cooperation in the field of cultural and artistic activities.

Vochevevic praised the strong Egyptian-Serbian relations, especially in the cultural field and appreciated the strong presence of Egyptian arts and culture in Serbia during the past two years.

The mayor pointed out that this is a good opportunity to exchange cultures between the two countries.

He invited Egypt to participate, with its culture and artistic troupes, in the celebration ceremony of choosing the city of Novi Sad as the capital of culture in 2021, since large audience witnessed the Egyptian diverse artistic activities.

He pointed confirmed the Serbian President’s interest in strengthening and developing relations with Egypt because of the long history of bilateral cooperation.

On her part, Abdel Dayem welcomed and accepted to participate in the celebration ceremony of choosing the city of Novi Sad as the capital of culture in 2021.

The Egyptian and the Serbian parties discussed a project to establish artistic and cultural relations, creating cultural bridge and strengthening the depth of relations between the two peoples.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged souvenirs reflecting the artistic heritage of Cairo and Belgrade.
