On Tuesday, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Khaled El-Anany, received the Japanese Ambassador to Cairo Noki Masaki, to discuss enhancing tourism and archaeological cooperation between the two countries during the coming period.
The meeting was attended by Anna Yoshifumi Omura, the main representative of JICA’s office in Egypt.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments works at the Grand Egyptian Museum, as well as the possibility of supporting the museum with Japanese experts in various fields in light of the depth of Egyptian-Japanese relations between the two peoples.
The meeting touched upon ways of boosting the incoming tourist movement to Egypt from Japan, especially in conjunction with the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, given that the Japanese tourists have great passion and interest in cultural tourism and visiting archaeological sites in general and Egypt in particular.
