Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, discussed with Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi the latest developments regarding Iran’s nuclear file, particularly following the agreement reached between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency in Cairo on September 9.
The agreement marks the first step toward resuming cooperation between the two sides after the Israeli aggression on Iran.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to create conditions conducive to postponing the reactivation mechanism of UN sanctions, as well as resuming negotiations between Iran and the United States in a way that takes into account the interests of all parties.
He also noted that such steps would contribute to de-escalation, rebuilding trust, and fostering a supportive climate for achieving regional security and stability.
