Egypt hosts "Teaching Excellence in Medical Education" seminar

CAIRO Sept19 (SEE): "Teaching Excellence in Medical Education" seminar which supports the national initiative to improve the quality of higher education teaching strategy throughout Egypt, was launched days ago. The national initiative started in June 2016.

The key speaker at the seminar was professor Ronald Harden, who is one of the leading international figures in medical education with an active presence in more than 40 countries,

His presentations highlighted innovations in medical education, challenges and opportunities, and the changing roles of educators in the future of medical education.

The two-day seminar was hosted by the Military Medical Academy at the Continuing Medical Education building. It was organized by Elsevier, the global information analytics company specializing in science and health, and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB).

H.E. Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and president of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank said, "To date, more than two million Egyptians have accessed and benefited from EKB, the largest digital library in the world. EKB will play a significant role in developing the medical education system in Egypt by providing first-hand information to educators, healthcare professionals, students, researchers and scholars alike."

 

David Game, eProduct Director, Education EMEALAAP, Elsevier, and design-thinking workshop lead at the seminar said, "We are pleased to contribute to this education forum, and we look forward to adding value through Elsevier’s medical information solutions, which we are confident will help in enhancing the medical education platform in Egypt.

 

Deans of Egyptian medical schools attended the event. In addition to 150 carefully selected academics by the supreme council of universities.
