Egypt Hosts Int'nal Skateboarding Competition for 2nd Time

Egypt hosted the "Mind The Gap" skateboarding competition at the Cairo Nile in Giza for the second time in a row.

 The event was attended by a large number of youth, influencers, and amateurs of this modern game.

In the past years, the love for the sport has been widespread among the youth in the Arab world.

Skateboarding spread among the Arab youth despite it being novel.

The sports enthusiasts were spotted skating across the country, from the Zamalek and Sheikh Zayed to October and El Tagamoa El Khames as they practiced their skillful movements and can be heard applauding and cheering on as they performed masterfully an impressive movement.

*Big competition

 Nearly 30 professionals have reached the qualifiers in the competition.

The contestants showed fitness and high craftsmanship as they practiced tricks that varied between jumping, skiing, and jumping in the air, all the while artistry being in control of the board.

High-profiled names that participated in the competition included Karim Othman, Faris Zikri, Tarek Ezzat, Shady Hany, Yassin ElAttar, and Mahmoud Abdullah.

* German referee

The competition is organized by an international energy drink company and hosted in many countries, including America, Germany, and Spain.

German referee, Jost Arnes took part in the competition alongside the Egyptian referee Yehia O.

The competition went through several stages until they reached the three winners, who were:

1. Faris Rashwan

2. Samir Magdy

3. Ahmed Tarek

The winners received a voucher from the international Vans brand worth 10000, 5000, and 2000 to buy skateboard shoes.

The affair was a funfilled experience that was a mix between competition and event at the same time.

It combined music with entertainment with Oxada Punkweirdo serving as the mic man and El Waili as producer.

A large number of websites and correspondents live-streamed the competition.
