Egypt, Namibia Hold Talks to Enhance Cooperation

Egypt's Minister of Water Resources Abdel Aty held fruitful talks this week with his Namibia's counterpart Carl Hermann Gustav to enhance bilateral cooperation in the water aggregation sector.

Abdel Aty's meeting with Gustav, who is currently visiting Cairo, tackled means of promoting bilateral cooperation at all levels as well as a host of issues of mutual concern, according to domestic reports.

The meeting falls within the framework of promoting cooperation with all African countries.

Abdel Aty said: “One of the happiest moments is to witness the steady growth of relations between two countries and their transition to broader horizons.”

 

On his part, the Namibian Minister praised relations between the two countries in all fields, as well as Egyptian efforts regarding development projects, especially in relation to water infrastructures, according to a statement by Egypt’s Ministry of Water Resources.

 

Lately, the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation has confirmed that there are undisclosed diplomatic moves underway to settle the dispute over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), which would only be announced when the three countries reach an agreement.
