Egyptian and French officials held talks in Cairo on Monday to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector, reflecting the strong and growing partnership between the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with French Ambassador to Egypt Éric Chevallier, during which both sides reviewed existing areas of collaboration and discussed opportunities to broaden cooperation in health services and medical development.
Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the depth of Egyptian-French relations and stressed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen partnerships in priority sectors, particularly healthcare, as part of broader development efforts. He noted the importance of continued coordination to support national health objectives and improve service quality.
The meeting also addressed potential avenues for future cooperation, including technical support, training programs, and joint initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare systems. Officials underscored the role of international partnerships in enhancing medical expertise and institutional capacity.
France remains a key partner in Egypt’s development agenda, with previous cooperation spanning medical training, health infrastructure, and specialized healthcare projects. Both sides expressed interest in maintaining momentum through continued dialogue and practical collaboration.
