Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty took part in a panel discussion at the Atlantic Council in Washington, where he outlined Cairo’s role in addressing regional challenges and promoting stability across the Middle East.
Speaking at a session titled “Egypt in a Turbulent Middle East,” Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s active and constructive role in de-escalation efforts amid exceptional regional circumstances. He reviewed Cairo’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at containing tensions and supporting peace and stability.
The discussion featured an interactive exchange with participants on key regional issues, including the Palestinian cause, developments in Sudan, Lebanon, and the Horn of Africa. Abdelatty outlined the core principles guiding Egypt’s approach to these crises.
He also underscored the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, pointing to shared interest in expanding economic, trade and investment cooperation, as well as attracting more U.S. investment into the Egyptian market.
The minister reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to working with international partners to address regional challenges through diplomacy and coordinated efforts.
