In an interview with Al Arabiya Net and Al Hadath, Mohamed Mansour, spokesperson for the Egyptian Committee in Gaza, outlined the latest relief and engineering efforts being carried out across the Strip. He confirmed that Egypt has removed Israeli-constructed earth barriers along the Netzarim Corridor and expanded the distribution of large-scale humanitarian aid.

According to Mansour, the committee has delivered 90,000 bags of flour, 90,000 food parcels, and 270 meat packages to families in Khan Younis. Another 55,000 food parcels have been fully distributed in Rafah. He added that the committee has now moved north, where more than 5,000 bags of flour have already been handed out, and that teams began distributing additional food and hygiene kits to families in northern Gaza on Wednesday morning.

Mansour noted that intensive engineering operations are underway in the Netzarim Corridor, an area previously obstructed by earthworks installed by the Israeli army. He said the land has been levelled after clearing the barriers, with heavy machinery flattening the mounds since Tuesday. The committee has begun preparing the first tent of the new Netzarim camp, while another camp is being established in the nearby city of Al-Zahra.

He stressed that the committee remains committed to providing all forms of humanitarian assistance, including camp preparation, operating bakeries and field kitchens, securing medical supplies, and supporting hospitals with medicines and baby formula. Mansour underscored that Egypt “will not retreat from its humanitarian duty toward the Palestinian people.”

The Egyptian Committee previously announced that it has built around 16 displacement camps across southern, central and northern Gaza, providing shelter for nearly 100,000 Palestinian families.

These expanded Egyptian operations come amid one of the worst humanitarian crises Gaza has faced. The Strip continues to endure severe shortages of food, medicine and fuel, alongside extensive internal displacement and widespread destruction resulting from the military operations that began in October 2023. The latest Sharm El-Sheikh agreement includes commitments to ensure the steady flow of humanitarian aid, rehabilitate vital infrastructure such as hospitals and bakeries, and allow the entry of equipment needed to clear rubble and reopen roads for relief convoys.
