Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, held an extensive meeting with Dr. Osama El-Gohary, Vice premier and Head of the Information and Decision Support Center.

The meeting focused on developing the Export rebate Program and boosting Egyptian exports.

The discussion centered around evaluating the program's scope, with particular emphasis on identifying the target sectors, the incentives to be offered, and the timelines for implementation.

Discussions also included plans to localize industries, identify globally popular goods, and enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian industry in fields, such as automobiles, food, textiles, and chemicals.

The meeting analyzed exemplary international export support models from seven different countries, coupled with surveys that assessed the current program and provided suggestions for its enhancement.

El-Khatib highlighted the program's goals to increase national exports, diversify markets, and strengthen the local economy. This is done by boosting foreign currency revenue and creating more jobs.

He stressed the need to enhance the competitiveness and quality of Egyptian products, increase reliance on local raw materials, increase local production, attract foreign investments, and reduce the trade deficit.

Dr. El-Gohary emphasized the need to develop institutional infrastructure to support exports focusing on strategic sectors that enhance the Egyptian economy's competitiveness, thereby contributing to sustainable development and economic growth.
