Egypt Deports 6 Indians after Testing Positive For Coronavirus at Cairo Airport

The quarantine authorities at Cairo International Airport deported on Friday 6 Indian passengers upon their arrival at the airport, after they were detected positive for coronavirus.

Informed sources at Cairo Airport said that during the completion of the quarantine authorities' procedures, the 45 passengers arriving on the Qatar Airways flight, coming in transit from India, were examined, it was found that 6 Indian passengers among the arrivals were infected with the virus.

Quarantine staff isolated the 6 passengers, and took the necessary preventive measures, until they were deported from the airport on two different flights on Qatar Airways, where 5 passengers left on one flight, and the second flight, the sixth passenger was deported on board.

The Cairo International Airport authorities have tightened their preventive measures for passengers on flights coming from India, Brazil and Latin America, using the ID NOW COVID-19 Test, which is a rapid test whose result appears in 13 minutes.
