Egypt condemned on Thursday the Israeli forces' storming of the Palestinian camp of Jenin this morning,  which resulted in the death of 9 Palestinians and many injuries.

In a statement, Foreign Ministry said that Egypt called for an immediate cessation of these attacks on Palestinian cities, which threaten to get the security situation in the West Bank out of control, warning of its dangerous repercussions on security and stability in the occupied Palestinian territories and the region.

Moreover, Egypt reaffirmed that the continuation of such attacks on Palestinian lives and property increases the state of congestion and feelings of injustice among the Palestinian people, and undermines all efforts that seek to revive the peace process, implement the vision of a two-state solution and establish a Palestinian state on the June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, Egypt called on all peace-loving international parties, and the United Nations (UN) and its agencies concerned with maintaining international peace and security, to assume their responsibilities to defuse the violence in the occupied territories, put an end to the repeated attacks on the Palestinian people, and provide protection for civilians.

It also underlined the need to respect the rules of international law and the relevant decisions of international legitimacy, the legitimate Palestinian rights and responsibilities of Israel as the occupying power.
