The Cabinet Media Center denied the rumors that spread regarding the discontinuation of the “ACI” advance registration system for shipments.
The Media Center explained - in a statement, Friday - that it had contacted the Egyptian Customs Authority, which confirmed that there was no truth to the suspension of the pre-registration system for shipments (ACI), and that the system was stable and operating normally and regularly, and had not stopped.
She indicated that more than 98,000 initial shipment identification numbers (ACID) have been issued since May 1 until now. This reflects the stability of the import movement through this system, and there are goods estimated at about $13.7 billion that arrived at the ports during this period, and the total value of those released amounted to $12 billion, which includes strategic goods worth about $3.4 billion, production requirements and raw materials worth about $5.4 billion, and more of the $39,000 imported vehicles worth about $364 million.
