This win boosts Egypt's chances of advancing to the quarterfinals. The Pharaohs’ group in the main round includes Croatia, Argentina, Slovenia, Iceland, and Cape Verde.
The first half ended with a 16-14 lead for Egypt in a game marked by standout performances from goalkeeper Mohamed Ali, player Seif El-Deraa, and Ali Zein.
Juan Carlos Pastor's side managed to bounce back from a 27-24 loss to Iceland in their main round opener.
The team are set to face Cape Verde on Sunday.
