Egypt Condemns Attack Targeted Maldives Parliament Speaker

Egypt condemned the late attack targeted the Malpes Speaker of the Parliament and former President Mohamed Nasheed on Friday.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Arab state expressed its wishes for a speedy recovery of Nasheed and all five- injured persons.

It stated: “Egypt expressed its wishes for a speedy recovery to the Speaker of the Parliament and to all the injured, affirming that the Egyptian government and people stand with the government and people of the Malpes in this painful incident.

Moreover, the statement highlighted Egypt’s support and solidarity with the Malpes nation in this tragic incident, in addition, Egypt renewed its rejection of all acts of violence and terrorism.

“Egypt also stressed its total rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism targeting security and stability,” it added.
