Egypt condemns Israeli escalation inside Palestinian territories

Egypt condemned, on Wednesday, the escalation carried out by the Israeli forces in the occupied Palestinian territories recently in the city of Jenin, which left six Palestinian citizens dead and a number of civilians injured, according to a statement issued by the foreign ministry. 

Egypt considered that such attacks against the Palestinian people and their property violate the rules of international law and the decisions of international legitimacy that stipulate the necessity of protecting civilians and preserving the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as violating the obligations of Israel as the occupying power, noting that these attacks also undermine the international and regional efforts aimed at reviving the peace process based on the two-state solution.

Egypt renewed its call on the international community to assume its responsibility and take immediate action to ward off the dangers of escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing its firm commitment to supporting Palestinian rights.
