Egypt strongly condemned the armed attack on a patrol of Rapid Deployment Force of the peacekeeping mission in Mali, which resulted in the death of a Jordanian soldier and the injury of two others.

Moreover, Egypt expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the Jordanian government and people, as well as the families of the victims, affirming its full support for the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in this painful incident, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Wednesday, Jordan announced that one of the patrols of the Rapid Deployment Force Mali/2 was subjected to an armed attack, which led to the martyrdom of a sergeant and the injury of two others.

It is worth mentioning that, the participation of the Jordanian Rapid Deployment Force in Mali comes, within the framework of the armed forces’ continuous role in international UN peacekeeping forces, to maintain security, stability, and peace and to provide humanitarian aid to affected peoples in various conflict areas around the world.
