Egypt condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack against an African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) base in the Middle Shabele region, southwest of Mogadishu, on 3 May 2022, and resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.
Moreover, Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with ATMIS in confronting all forms of violence and terrorism and its support for the mission's efforts to achieve stability in Somalia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
It also offered its condolences to the government and people of Burundi as well as the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, the statement read.
