Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s full support for Lebanon during a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, held under directives from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Abdelatty conveyed the president’s greetings and confirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and its institutions during the current situation. He pointed to the delivery of around 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid to help ease the impact of the crisis.
Berri expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support, noting its role in assisting Lebanon through both humanitarian and diplomatic efforts. He also praised Egypt’s engagement at regional and international levels.
The minister said Egypt rejects ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory and called for an immediate halt to military operations and full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He also stressed the need for international action to address violations and support stability in Lebanon.
