Egypt’s House of Representatives approved a government-drafted law to establish a unified national ID system for all real estate across the country.
The new law creates a central database covering all types of properties. Each property will be assigned a unique ID number that includes ownership classification, construction and permit details, recorded violations, due property taxes, and utility usage such as water, gas, and electricity.
The system will also define the administrative jurisdiction of each property and create a digital platform containing all legal, technical, and administrative information and records of any transactions
