The Egyptian Cabinet, during its meeting on Wednesday approved an additional incentive on wheat supply from farmers (2023 season), bringing the price of ardab to EGP 1,500, with a purity of 23.5 carats, after coordination between the relevant ministries.
Nader Saad, the official spokesperson for the Cabinet stated that this decision comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to review the price of wheat supply to farmers for the current agricultural season.
Saad indicated that this decision contributes to supporting the Egyptian farmer and encouraging him to expand in farming, and cultivation of strategic crops.
The decision also contributes to reducing the import bill of wheat.
