Egypt among third seeds for 2020 Olympics

The seedings for the Egyptian football team section of group stages for the 2020 Olympics were confirmed on Friday, according to FIFA.

Shawky Garib's team are in the third pot of seeds, alongside New Zealand, South Africa, and Ivory Coast.

Egyptian team could be drawn in a 2020 Olympic Games toughest group with France and Brazil, Germany, or Spain next week.

The 28 national football teams that have qualified for the massive tourney will discover their first opponents in the draw, to be held on 21 April at 10:00 CET, at the Home of FIFA in Zurich.

It's worth noting that the Egyptian Olympic team qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo last year after their U-23 AFCON achievement in 2019.

Later on,  the Egyptian football federation has asked Liverpool's permission to call up their winger Mohamed Salah for the summer sporting event.

On the other hand, the maven Egyptian coach has long been keen to include Salah as one of his three over-23 players for the upcoming tournament.
