Egypt Advances to Quarter Finals at Tokyo 2020 Olympics Sabre Event

Egypt Fencing team qualified to the the quarter finals in Tokyo 2020 Olympics after beating Japan 45-32 in the Sabre event Round of 16.

They will soon face South Korea, that ranks world's first, in the quarter finals.

It is worth mentioning that the mixed doubles duo of the Egyptian shooting team, Sami Abdel Razek and Radwa Abdel Latif, have bid farewell to the 10m air pistol shooting competitions at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Egyptian duo ranked 18 out of 20 teams with 563 points. The first 8 teams qualify for the next round.

Earlier on Tuesday, Egypt’s Archer Youssef Tolba lost 4-6 to Denis Gankin of Kazakhstan in the round of 32 at 2020 Tokyo Olympics to exit the tournament.

The match stopped several times due to the heavy rains, as the Olympics’ official site adjusted the result of the match after announcing the win the Egyptian player.

Tolba ranked 56th in the ordinal stage of the bow and arrow to face Dennis Jankin (31 years), who ranked ninth.

It is worth mentioning that Egyptian Taekwondo fighters Seif Issa, and Hedaya Malak secured the first two bronze medal for Egypt on Monday.
