EGX Indices Show Mixed Performance .. Market Cap Loses EGP 2.63 Bln

The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) indices showed mixed performance at the end of Sunday's trading session, with the main index falling amid market losses amounting to EGP 2.6 billion.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange "EGX30" declined during today's session by 0.16% to close at 14,681 points, while the index of medium and small companies "EGX70 EWI" rose by 1.15%,to end the session at 2588 points.

The broader index EGX100 EWI increased by 0.79% to close at 3844 points, and the EGX50 EWI rose by 0.1% to close at 2512 points.

The market cap lost about EGP 2.63 billion during today's session to close at EGP 954.445 billion, compared to EGP 957.07 billion at the end of last week's trading.

Up to 385.66 million shares were traded during today's session, with a trading value of about EGP 926.59 million through 50.800 transactions.

Trading took place during today's session on the shares of 202 companies, of which 77 companies increased, 78 companies maintained the previous closing price, and the shares of 47 companies decreased.

In terms of investor transactions, Egyptian investors' dealings in stocks tended to sell recording a net value of about EGP 78.32 million.

On the other hand, Arab transactions tended to buy, netting EGP 82.56 million, while foreigners' transactions tended to sell, netting EGP 4.24 million.
