EGASS Launches First Expedition to Egyptian Museum

CAIRO, Nov. 21 (SEE)- The Egyptian Institute for the Simplification of Science (EGASS) launched its first voyage to the Egyptian Museum to commemorate the 116th anniversary of the museum’s opening.

The event is celebrated in November each year in collaboration with the Blind School in the Museum and ‘AlNour and AlAmal’ School.

For his part, Dr. Hani El-Nazr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EGASS, said that the voyage is entitled "Knowledge is the Right for all, whether Healthy or Not.”

El-Nazer indicated that the challenge of disability in Egypt is huge exceeding 12% of the total population, “The institution considers nearly 12 million disability advocates, particularly the blind, deaf and impaired hearing, who account for more than 80% of disability contenders.”

According to the statement issued by the foundation, El-Nazer noted that the institution aims to provide simplified science to the Egyptians and that the exploratory trips are an integral part of the knowledge. “The institution was interested in organizing a special program for children with disabilities in Egypt.”

He pointed out to the importance of educating children about Egypt’s treasures either archaeological or environmental including; reserves of land, lake and mountains and religious sites.

The trip is part of the "Discover Egypt" initiative launched by the foundation during the inauguration of the first scientific documentary system entitled "Egyptian Geographic" in February 2018, at the pyramids plateau in the presence of Dr. Zahi Hawass, Scientific Advisor to the Foundation and the magazine.
