The Egyptian Football Association decided to name the new form of Egypt's Super Cup as the Elite tournament, local media outlets reported on Wednesday.
The new tournament will include four teams: the champions of the Egyptian Premier League, and the holders of the second place of the EPL, along with the Champions of Egypt Cup, and EFA Cup.
EFA also revealed that the current form of the Egypt Super Cup will continue, while, the new tournament will be a separate championship.
Last Friday, Al Ahly defeated Pyramids 1-0 to win the Egypt Super Cup for the 2021/2022 season.
The game was a tough one, and both teams wasted various opportunities for hitting each one's nets.
It was settled with a goalless draw before both teams go for extra time for 30 minutes.
