Education min. inaugurates "Elsewedy" Electric Technical School

Cairo, Spte 25  (SEE ) -Education Minister Tarek Shawki inaugurated on Monday the

second school of Elsewedy Technical Academy in the presence of Swiss Ambassador in Cairo Paul Garnier and Catherine Hansen, Vice President of the European Bank for Development and Reconstruction.

Addressing the inauguration, Shawki said that Elsewedy academy contributes to the development of  technical education in Egypt, adding the government pays great attention to  technical education  in ordre to prepare well-qualified graduates for the labor market.

Meanwhile, Hansen expressed her happiness for her partaking in such an event, asserting her support to technical education institutions.

Garnier stressed of the importance of the Elsewedy academy to boost the technical education here and market it as an international product. He added that the project falls within a framework of the Egyptian-Swiss Cooperation Strategy for 2017-2020 in line with Egypt Vision 2030.

 

President and Chief Executive Officer of Elsewedy Electric Ahmed Elsewedy said that the academy provides practical training for the students, noting that a club of innovations has been established in order to graduate well-prepared technicians.

The third stage of the academy will be set up in Ain Sokhna and Sadat cities. In 2011, Elsewedy Electric established the Elsewedy Electric Technical School in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE). Elsewedy Electric Technical School aims to support technical school graduates and prepare them to join the workforce.

The school teaches them how to get acquainted with relevant education pathways for those who want to continue beyond upper secondary education.

STA launched its first academy in September 2016 which hosted 400 students. It plans to acquire the Quality Management Certificate ISO 29990 in 2017 Students join STA on full scholarships, providing them with uniforms, learning material, electronic learning devices, transportation and on-the-job training during their three-year course of study, in addition to financial support in the form of monthly compensation
